FAQs - Missing Teeth
Why should I replace missing teeth?
When a tooth is not replaced, the remaining teeth can drift out of position and change the bite. This can lead to tooth decay, gum disease and bite problems.
The lips may also appear thin and flattened. The chin appears forward and upwards and appears pointy.
The mouth loses some of its shape, and the lip line straightens. Pouches become pronounced on either side of the lower jaw and cracks and sores may form in the corners of the mouth.
How are missing teeth replaced?
This depends on the number of teeth missing and where they are in your mouth. There are 3 different ways to replace a missing tooth: a denture, implant or a bridge. Visit our Treatment section to find out more about these options.
